During surgery, high-speed infrared optical tracking cameras register your knee's bony landmarks and build a precise digital model of your unique joint anatomy in real time — directly on the operating table.
The integrated ACCUBALANCE™ tool then measures ligament tension and soft-tissue balance through your full range of motion, allowing Dr. Patel to perfect alignment before any bone is cut. Imageless Planning
Traditional robotic systems require a CT scan weeks before surgery. VELYS™ builds your surgical plan in the operating room— using live optical data that's more accurate than any pre-op image.
X-Ray + Clinical Assessment
Weight-bearing standing X-rays capture alignment and joint space. Combined with gait analysis, range of motion, and deformity evaluation, the surgeon defines targets — implant size, alignment angles, and surgical approach.
Optical Landmark Registration
In the OR, VELYS™ registers anatomical landmarks on your femur and tibia using infrared optical trackers. The system constructs a precise 3D digital model of your joint in real time — unique to your anatomy that day.
ACCUBALANCE™ Assessment
The ACCUBALANCE™ tool measures ligament tension and soft-tissue balance through your full range of motion. The surgeon fine-tunes the plan to achieve optimal balance and alignment — before any bone is cut.
Live Plan Locked & Verified
The complete surgical plan — implant position, size, and angles — is confirmed and locked within the system. Any adjustment is made live. Final bone cuts and fixation only proceed once the system verifies accuracy.
